Recipe: Crêpes
Crêpes
Sweet or savoury, hot or cold, heavy or light. Crêpes are the go to breakfast that can be adjusted to fit anyone's mood. Versatille and satisfying they're a guaranteed success in any household.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup flour
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 tsp vegetable oil
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
- 2 eggs
- 2 tbsp butter
Filling + Garnish:
- Handful of strawberries
- 3 green onions
- Chives
- Cheese of choice ( I used Mozza and cheddar mix)
- Chocolate Ganache: a handful of chocolate chips and 1 cup heavy cream
Instructions:
- In a large bowl mix together all your ingredients.
- In a small pan, melt a small chunk of butter. Make sure not to burn it.
- Using a measuring cup or ladle, pour the crepe batter in.
- Cook until bubbles form and the side on the skillet gets a nice brown colour. Flip and cook the other side.
For cheese, green onion and chive crêpe:
- Melt the cheese on top of the crêpe while it's still in the pan.
- Place the green onions along the crêpe and fold.
- Garnish with chives.
For strawberry and chocolate crêpe:
- In a small saucepan melt and whisk your chocolate chips with heavy cream until the desired consistency is reached.
- Line the crêpes with the freshly made ganache.
- Align the strawberries and fold the crêpe.
- Top with more ganache and serve.
